State Bank of Countryside is seeking an energetic, flexible, team player to join our

Darien Branch as a Teller/Financial Counselor. The primary responsibilities of a Financial Counselor/Teller are Sales, Operations, and Community Marketing of his/her branch. The Financial Counselor/Teller works as the primary customer service contact, and handles all teller and personal banking responsibilities at the branch location. The Financial Counselor/Teller evaluates customer needs and advises the customer of the most beneficial products and services. In addition, the Financial Counselor/Teller helps find and nurture new customer relationships. The Financial Counselor/Teller participates in local community events to increase branch awareness. The Financial Counselor/Teller ensures compliance to bank policies and procedures with and emphasis on high touch, quality customer service and demonstrates a commitment to the Bank's corporate culture and value system. The Financial Counselor/Teller must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and project a professional image at all times.

Qualifications

  • Performs all Personal Banking and Teller Line tasks and responsibilities.
  • Learns and develops customer service skills and techniques.
  • Helps with daily branch operations, and delivers high touch, quality customer service face-to-face or via phone.
  • Ensures compliance with Bank policy and all government regulations.
  • Demonstrates sound judgment, while adapting easily to change.
  • Minimizes and prevents possible Bank losses, i.e. fraud loss, teller differences, etc.
  • Demonstrates a commitment to the Banks' corporate culture and value system.
  • Proactive in gaining new business, and effective in maintaining current customer relationships.
  • Projects a pleasant, professional appearance with strong communication skills.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced, multi-tasked environment.
  • The position requires lifting objects of 30 pounds, reaching, and removing objects of 15 pounds above height level, and bending to floor level.
  • The position requires a valid driver's license and access to a personal motor vehicle for travel to other locations.
  • High School diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Minimum of one (1) year previous experience in retail sales or the financial industry is required.
